The Missions and Community Outreach Committee seeks to minister to the needs of our local communities as well as national and international communities by supporting helping agencies recommended by the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church and local charities as well as needs caused by disaster.

Early Response Team Training

Saturday of Service August, 2023

2023 Outreach

Heidi Klein, Missions and Outreach Committee Chair for 2023, presented a check for $1500 to Hinton Center President and CEO, Jacqueline Gottlieb. These funds will be used toward the purchase of a mechanized wood splitter for Hinton's firewood ministry. Hinton provided more than 700 loads of firewood to area families in need during 2022. The new approach to splitting wood will save volunteer energy for stacking and delivering the wood. The Hinton Center is part of the United Methodist Global Ministries and is located in Clay County, North Carolina just outside Hayesville.

2021 Outreach

Sharp United Methodist Church Honored Fire/Rescue and EMS Workers for all they do for our community.
Marie Scott from the Missions Committee presented Justin Ledford of Town's County Fire and Rescue
with lunchtime pizza for the entire organization.
