Lay Leader

The role of "lay leader" in a church congregation is one of significant importance to ensure effective and timely communication between church members and the minister and staff. The lay leader is, in essence, the "eyes and ears of the congregation". The lay leader has no formal duties other than to "listen and communicate", and to perform whatever duties are deemed appropriate by the minister. The Lay Leader represents the members of the congregation as a member of the Administrative Board, the Staff/Parish Relations Committee, the Stewardship/Finance Committee, the Worship Committee, and the Council on Ministries.
